Ski Season Ends...almost

Yesterday was the last day of operation at the ski area. I competed in the Local's Cup ski/snowboard race entering in all three divisions: alpine, telemark, and snowboard. A bit insane as it required doing two runs with each piece of equipment. First a telemark run. Then a quick change out of those boots and skis and into my alpine gear in order to do my first alpine run. Another quick change into snowboard gear and two runs on the the snowboard. Then back to alpine for a second run. And last a final run on telemark. I was more tired from changing than competing. Third place overall. I need an age handicap!

Today my friend Andy plus Debbie and I, along with Tucker, hiked the 2-mile long trail to the top of the mountain. Andy and Deb on snowshoes. Me on my backcountry skis. Tucker and I skied down a steep run while Andy and Deb started back down. After completing our run (quite literally for Tucker), we cycled back up to meet with them coming down. This made my 100th day on snow for this season. I need a rest.
